September 11 E-News
Sunday, September 13

This Sunday kicks off a week-long emphasis in the life of our church that we’re calling Investment Week, where we’ll be challenged by the gospel’s call to steward our lives for eternal impact. This week will be bookended by two important Sundays.
September 13 is Stewardship Sunday! Pastor Ben will show us from the example of Barnabas what a life stewarded for the gospel looks like.
September 20 is Go Sunday! Pastor Peter will challenge us from Luke 15 to personally pursue the lost. He will also be presenting an exciting vision for how we intend to go into our communities and reach the lives of those around us with the gospel over the course of the next 12 months.
In between those two Sundays, you’ll see a video campaign online that highlights just a sampling of the many ways at PBC and in our community that you can GO and serve — in fact, you don’t have to go far to go and serve; it’s happening just down the hall!
You won’t want to miss Investment Week, and we hope none of us go through it unchanged.

Our New Equip Hour Classes Begin Sunday, October 4!
This fall, our first study will take us through John 1–12 as we explore the Gospel’s invitation to “Come and See.” Together, we will examine who Jesus is, why he came, and how we should respond to him.
Room locations and other final arrangements are still being determined. We’ll share more information soon, but make plans now to join us for this new season of Equip Hour!
Website Refresh!
You may have noticed that our website received a refresh! Not only does it have an updated look, but it also has some great new features. Check out the sermon note taker on Sunday mornings or at the bottom of each sermon page on the website. It lets you fill in the blanks in the notes as Pastor Sam is preaching and gives you space to add your own thoughts between points. Then you can send the notes to yourself via email at the bottom.
You’ll also notice a new primary domain — pbcgreenville.org. Since we now have a Greenville address and anticipate being in this location for a while, we want our website to reflect that. With God’s help and in partnership with each other, we hope to be and make disciples in Greenville and all the surrounding communities.
New Hope Group: Men of Integrity
Mondays beginning September 14, we are launching our first Hope Group, called Men of Integrity. The focus of this group is to help men struggling with lust, sexual sins, and temptations. This 13-week class will take place at the church campus.
REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! Cost is $25 for materials. Scholarships are available. Please email Paul Christensen with any questions.
PBC 101
PBC 101 is for those interested in learning more about our church. It’s not too late to join us! This 4-week class meets in Room 232 at 10:45AM. SIGN UP HERE to be added to the class roster (not required, but helpful).
September 17 | Piedmont Women's Center - Night for Life
Night for Life provides an opportunity for the pro-life community to show support for Piedmont Women’s Center and the work they do. Come hear the personal stories of clients whose lives were changed through the ministry of PWC! To register for this FREE event, please click the image below.
Volunteer Opportunities
Serve with us in ESL!

For a long time now, our country has experienced a worsening epidemic of teens growing up without a loving adult that cares about them, a problem that only perpetuates itself as those teens grow into adulthood. This reality is true in communities all around us. About 6 years ago, one of our members, Phil Beardslee, responded to that situation by starting a non-profit called Cultivate Sports, which focuses on spreading hope and impacting the lives of youth and families in underserved communities. He has partnered with Welcome Baptist and now PBC for several years now, creating gospel-inroads into our local community via sports. Alongside ESL, Cultivate Sports is another strategic local initiative that we want to continue to invest in as we seek to make disciples in the community God has placed us.
In just a few weeks, Cultivate Sports will be starting a new year of their after-school initiative, dedicated to providing a safe and supportive space for middle and high school students. This takes place right here on our campus, every Wednesday afternoon starting September 9. Phil is looking to partner with a few men who would be wiling to serve as facilitators and run one Wednesday night a month, or as players who would be willing to simply play with the teens and forge mentoring relationships with them—become a teammate in life for these kids. He’s also looking for individuals or families who could serve occasionally by providing or serving dinner on those nights. If you are interested in serving or learning more, please reach out to Phil at cultivatesportssc@gmail.com or connect with the church office.
